The Story

MikroTik 10Gbps Outdoor Fiber-to-Copper Converter FTC11XG

A weatherproof IP55 Fiber-to-Copper converter to transform your 10 Gigabit SFP+ fiber connections into RJ45 10 Gigabit Ethernet. It runs a full version of SwOS Lite and has its own switch-chip!

FTC11XG offers low power consumption (9-10 W) and two ways of powering: a standard DC jack & 802.3 af/at/bt 43-57 V PoE-In. It comes with a PoE injector, a power supply, and everything you need to secure it on a ceiling.

FTC11XG runs a full version of SwOS Lite, and has its own switch-chip, allowing you to perform a variety of tasks you would never expect from a regular media converter! Here are some of them:

  • Interface management and monitoring
  • VLAN support
  • SNMP reporting
  • Basic traffic shaping

And even advanced packet filtering with Access Control List - a powerful network tool that allows packet filtering, accounting, and VLAN tagging based on Layer 2, 3, and 4 protocol header field conditions.
